Bible

Don’t make your kids hate math with the “drill-to-death” approach favored by programs like Saxon. Instead, your kid will develop a love of math with the story-based program Life of Fred for Fractions and for Decimals and Percents, reinforced with Zillions of Practice Problems. Life of Fred is award-winning (and affordable!).

English

Your student is done with the rigorous structure of Shurley English, and now can focus on the wonderfully simple grammar overview of Our Mother Tongue and the amazing Grammar of Poetry series. Everyone should learn to read and write poems — you won’t regret it!

Literature

Your 6th grader will be reading books they’ll enjoy and remember for the rest of their lives. Scheduled should continue to be one of the most enjoyable parts of your week. If you’d prefer, you can find the list of thirteen books at logospressonline.com and borrow the books from your local library.

Latin

Latin Primer 3 teaches the remaining basic concepts of Latin grammar needed before moving on to Kraken Latin, a translation-based course, after elementary. LP3 is the final book in the very first classical Christian Latin program. Its simple design and concepts make it ideal for teaching a base of vocabulary, derivatives, and grammar rules for further Latin study.

History & Geography

The Mystery of History is a great survey of history for Christian kids with plenty of activities for all learning styles. Book 3 teaches your student about the Renaissance, the Reformation, and the growth of Nations in a memorable way.

Logic

Informal fallacies are the crowd favorite of logical things to study, and the fully illustrated Adorable Fallacies will have the entire family listening in on that week’s story and examples. Your student will learn how to identify and defeat 50 informal fallacies over the course of the year.
