If "Who am I?" is the question you're asking, Rachel Jankovic doesn't want you to "find yourself" or "follow your heart."

Look Inside the Group Discussion Study Guide

Those lies are nothing to the confidence, freedom, and clarity of purpose that come with knowing what is actually essential about you. And the answer to that question is at once less and more than what you are hoping for. Christians love the idea that self-expression is the essence of a beautiful person, but that's a lie, too.

With trademark humor and no nonsense practicality, Rachel Jankovic explains the fake story of the Self, starting with the inventions of a supremely ugly man named Sartre (rhymes with "blart"). And we--men and women, young and old--have bought his lie of the Best Self, with terrible results. Thankfully, that's not the end of our story, You Who: Why You Matter and How to Deal with It takes the identity question into the nitty gritty details of everyday life. Here's the first clue: Stop looking inside, and start planting flags of everyday faithfulness. In Christianity, the self is always a tool and never a destination.

This Study Guide includes chapter summaries, 4-6 questions for discussion and practical application, and recommended Scripture passages to study and consider. Perfect for small groups or Bible studies.

Canon Press is a publisher located in Moscow, Idaho. At Canon Press, we create and provide products that sketch a vision of a whole life a whole culture: A life full of beauty, tradition, education, community, laughter, and celebration unashamed of Christ, and sharply at odds with the values of modernity; a mature culture with the church at the center living out the good life one family at a time. We believe our book, audio, and visual selections reflect this exciting life that God has given us under the sun. As the wisest man said, "Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart; For God has already accepted your works." Eccl. 9:7

Every Christian woman should read this book. And not just the women.

I listened to this title on my Canon plus app. I purchased the Kindle copy. Asked my husband to listen. I purchased another copy for a friend.
I can only say this book was eye opening for me. I so appreciate the author’s ability to cut to the chase; “hard words create soft hearts.” I’m no book reviewer. Just read it.

You Who Group Discussion Study Guide

Our group is struggling a bit with the format. It seems we could have the same discussion without the guide. Maybe our expectation is off, and we were hoping for a bit more clarity of direction. But we really are enjoying the You Who book!

You Who Guide

The booklet was awesome. I really enjoyed how it was separated by chapter, and it was simple enough to be done in a Book Club setting. When I say simple I don’t mean easy. The guide itself is like 80 or so pages so it could be actually be studied for weeks at a time!! But the ladies on my Book Club were able to talk for two full hours, discussion then issues with clarity :)

It is a helpful resource in leading a group through the book.

Short and Sweet

Notice that on the cover this is described as a "Group Discussion Study Guide".....I was expecting more of a traditional study guide as in fill in the questions, prompts, etc. Something you could use or give to teen kids for personal study. Not so great for that as it doesn't even have room to answer the questions or write in the book at all.
However, I'm also leading a group discussion of the book for mothers and daughters and it is helpful for that. It gives reminders and a summery of each chapter as well as discussion points and questions to ask the group.
But definitely something just the group leader can purchase and use not something that would be particularly helpful or necessary for all the participants to own.
I love You Who and would highly recommend with or without this guide!
