Material wise, it’s been great thus far. We have read 3 of the books on the list and gone through the material. The reason this is not getting 5 stars is really a matter of design. The layout of the material is not easily accessible. I have the guide downloaded, however, in an effort to save material costs, I only print the worksheets for my child and not the entire guide. I have to scroll all the way through the entire guide to try and find the particular book we are going through. It’s a bit more frustrating. An easy fix would be to add hyper links to the particular book sections in the table of contents at the beginning of the guide. I know that many other people probably just print everything off, but we’re trying to keep things frugal. My second complaint is the amount of writing for the grade level. I’m all for challenging my children but this seems like a ton of writing for a first grader. We are doing our own modifications and working our way up to the level that this is set at. All in all, we have enjoyed the book selections and the general way in which the curriculum is set to help the child comprehend what they are reading.
